One-shot Log: Pack up All the Pieces of Me

What: After coming back to life, Chuck comes home to an empty house and with a broken heart.
When: July 14th, morning
Where: First in the Southern District, then at Sonic's Hut

Ever since the trip to Sonic's world to fix the flaw and help Sonic get his missing memories back, it's been tough on the older hedgehog. The trip itself proved to be mentally and emotionally exhausting, having seen their world in an even worse state than before, seeing Bunnie turned into some monster and then finding out he 'died' during battle as a Freedom Fighter.
Unfortunately for him it would only get worse once the latest Reality Storm hit.
He woke up that morning robotized and completely lost of free will. He attacked Sonic and had tried to kill him. It was fortunate that Sonic was able to escape from him. Two days later, he loses his life by the hands of King Shadow.
A week has passed since then and like all deaths in the city, Chuck finds himself back to life and back to normal once he stepped out of the gate. Although he couldn't remember a lot of what happened, he does remember trying to kill Sonic and that Chuck himself died by someone's hands. He wished he knew who so he could thank them for stopping him.
He looks around and realizes he was in the same place he first entered Nautilus from, the Southern District. He was also alone it appeared.
Well there was no point standing around. He might as well go back to the house. Sure that would mean dealing with Sonic but at least Sonic would be happy to see him again and back to normal.
...Or so that's what Chuck thought.
He arrives at the house and notices the door is unlocked. He opens the door and his eyes widen at the state of the house.
The house is in a complete mess. Almost as if a tornado came in here and wrecked the place. He goes inside and closes the door. He makes his way throughout the house, trying his best not to step on anything.
When he reaches Sonic's room, he opens the door to see several photos scattered all over the place. Some on the bed, some on the shelves and some elsewhere. He notices his photo album on Sonic's bed. He goes over and sits down. Although he doesn't notice it, several of the photos have dried tear stains on them.
One photo catches Chuck's eye. He picks it up and it's a photo of an injured six year old Sonic handing a much younger Chuck a loose baby tooth to him. He can't help but make a small smile at the photo. Sonic was a real handful as a child but he loved him all the same. Heck, he still loves his nephew to this day.
He sets aside the photo and opens the album. As he took a quick glance through the pages, he noticed there was several missing spots where the shattered photos were supposed to be. In fact there was a clear pattern to it. All the photos that were taken out had himself in it. Memories of his attack on Sonic at the start of the storm pop up in his mind and he can't help but come to one conclusion.
Sonic hates him.
The logical part of his brain tells him 'if he actually hated me, why wouldn't he just put them in the trash instead of just leaving them everywhere?' but he ignores it as his heart shatters to a million pieces, much like how Shadow shattered his core into just as much pieces. His ears folds against his skull and he clenches his teeth, but he takes a deep breath and calms himself down. He cannot cry. Not yet.
So he spent a couple hours cleaning the house and putting all the missing photos back to where they belonged, all the while good memories flooded his mind. Once that was done, he locks the door and all the windows tight. The only way someone could get in now was to either break one of those windows or teleport in.
It was then after all of that was done was and he sat down on the couch that Chuck allows himself to cry. Cry over the loss of his only family member left and being all alone now.
